Pelleres™ are weighted arm sleeves that wrap around the forearm and are scientifically designed to increase the power and strength of an athlete when used during exercise. Pelleres™ capitalise on the well known and thoroughly researched exercise principles of overload and functional training. By applying weights to the forearms an imbalance is instantly created in the upper body which overloads the body and engages your core. As the core muscles strive to overcompensate for the imbalance the core is simultaneously stabilised and strengthened. When the body is overloaded with weight it is forced to adapt and become more powerful.
Pelleres™ also allow an athlete to enhance their functional training of weight bearing exercises targeted at core muscles without restricting the body’s natural range of movement. As soon as you put Pelleres™ on your core will become activated so you have greater control and power. But in order to see improvement in a particular activity it’s best to train with them for several sessions so your body has time to adapt and strengthen accordingly.
Research has shown that an athlete will continue to perform at their optimum level when Pelleres™ are removed. When you train with Pelleres™ you’re actually strengthening the neural pathways required to carry out that action, whether it be throwing, running or jumping. When the Pelleres™ are removed research has shown the body will continue to be stimulated to operate at a higher neuromuscular level.

For most of us running and jumping are activities that are hard wired into our brain which pretty much means we do them without thinking or by remote control. This happens because the neural pathways required to carry out the action are already formed in our brains. If we want to change the way we run or jump, we need to stimulate new neural pathways and strengthen existing ones (basically change the message that tells our brain to do something a certain way.) By wearing Pelleres™ you will be strengthening the neural pathways required to carry out an action, because your body will need to compensate for the extra weight. And research has shown the body will continue to operate at a higher neuromuscular level when they are removed.

The general rule here is the more intense the activity, like running, the lower the weight you should use. For lower intensity activities like walking a heavier weight should be used. However, for more resistance training an athlete can choose a heavier weight.
The 200 gram weight is the lightest in the series and is designed to maximize speed and agility training. It is best suited to a high impact/high intensity workout providing a slight overload when you are training at maximum capacity. Pelleres™ 2.0 will assist in improving fine motor skills and allow you to repeat complex movement patterns under resistance but without restricting range of movement.
It is recommended that the 350 gram weight should be used for training sessions at 80-95% maximum effort. The weight has been scientifically calculated to provide resistance training without changing your normal range of movement. Pelleres™ 3.5 is light enough to be worn during skills sessions and ideal for wearing during long workouts.
The third weight in the series Pelleres™ 5.0 is ideal for medium to low impact activities. It can be used as a training tool to strengthen specific muscle groups or to provide extra resistance training during workouts. Pelleres™ 5.0 is also an effective rehabilitation tool when used under the supervision of a medical professional.
Pelleres™ 7.5 is the heaviest weight in the series and is scientifically designed for low impact and low intensity workouts. It is heavy enough to provide resistance training but light enough not to stress joints or cause injury when used properly. Pelleres™ 7.5 is an effective rehabilitation tool when used under supervision.
Strength training for children is recommended from puberty onwards and should always be under the supervision of an adult.
A properly designed strength training program can improve the strength of children, increase cardiorespiratory fitness, increase flexibility, improve motor fitness performance, improve body composition, increase resistance to injury and improve overall sports performance.
We recommend Pelleres™ should only be used for ages 16+ and under the guidance of a recognized Pelleres™ trainer.
